Solid Points for Max Wadsworth and The Macadam Triumph Factory Racing Team at Cadwell Park
This Bank Holiday weekend the Macadam Triumph Factory Racing team were in action at Lincolnshire’s Cadwell Park for the eighth round of the Quattro British Supersport Championship, where Max Wadsworth enjoyed a solid weekend with a host of top 10 finishes aboard the Triumph Street Triple 765 RS.
Getting off to a strong start at the 2.18-mile circuit, both the Macadam riders of Oli Bayliss and Wadsworth were inside the top 10 on Saturday’s combined practice times. Another new circuit for Australian Bayliss, he took no time in learning the unique nature of the track and went into Sunday’s qualifying confident after placing third overall in practice.
However, during qualifying and after setting the third fastest lap, Bayliss suffered a highside at Barn. Able to walk away from the incident, he was assessed at Cadwell Park by the BSB medical team, but was transferred to hospital for further scans and checks. Released later in the day, Bayliss suffered tissue and ligament damage and sat out of the weekends’ races in order to rest and recover.
With Bayliss sidelined, it was Wadsworth flying the solo Macadam flag where after a strong qualifying session he lined up on the second row of the grid in fifth. Keeping in with the front group across the 12-lap Sprint race, he crossed the line sixth matching his best result from the opening round earlier in the year.
Monday’s Feature race action was interrupted with intermittent weather across the Lincolnshire circuit, with rain threatening the 18-lap race. With a dry event declared Wadsworth lined up 10th on the grid, but by the end of the first lap was down in 17th. On the second rotation rain started to fall and the race was red flagged.
With a quick restart across 12 laps, the weather changed once more and it was sunny skies that greeted the Supersport field. Wadsworth enjoyed a strong ride to wrap up a positive weekend for the Halifax-based rider, eventually coming home in eighth place.
The next round of the series takes place at the Cathedral of Speed, with the ninth round at the TT Circuit Assen on 18-19-20 September, where the Macadam team hope to be back to a full squad with Bayliss and Wadsworth.

“It’s been a positive weekend for us at Cadwell Park; we had a good Sprint race yesterday finishing sixth. Today we had another good race, but just didn’t quite have the pace to maintain and stick with the front group in the Feature race. We took another top 10 finish in eighth and another good handful of points. I’m happy with the results from this weekend as we’ve had a recent run of tough results. Hopefully we can keep this momentum going at the next round at Assen. Unfortunately Oli wasn’t racing with us this weekend following his crash in yesterday’s qualifying, wishing him a speedy recovery.”
